  • Stouffville, Ontario - The Pserra Racing team celebrated another victory in Eastern Canadian Karting Championship action, held this past weekend at the PSL Karting Trois-Rivières circuit in Trois-Rivières, Quebec. With a four member strong team on deck for the single day event, the Tecno pilots battled ever-changing weather condition throughout the day. With mixed results overall, Pserra again showed strong in the regional series with Micro Max pilot Antonio Serravalle continuing his winning streak.

Serravalle was the kart to beat once again in the Rotax Micro Max class, and competitors would have a tough go to try and best the eight-year-old pilot. Sweeping the event, the young gun had a perfect day taking pole position in qualifying by more than half a second, earning the prefinal win and topping the day off blasting the competition to score the main event victory by a staggering 26 seconds! With all three victories in ECKC action under his belt, Serravalle looks poised to take the class championship at just the midway point in the series. Also running the Micro Max class, Erik Hovesen had an outstanding drive after missing the qualifying session. Making his way up to fourth during prefinal action, the young driver was able to join his teammate on the podium after a great run to second during the final.

Mini Max pilot Gregory Hovesen ran consistently in the top-five all day, but overall luck would not be on his side in Quebec. After posting a promising fourth place result in qualifying, a second place run in the prefinal would be spoiled after a post race technical infraction was assessed. Bad luck followed Hovesen in the final, after not even scoring a lap the Pserra driver's DNF classified him in the 14th position. With the speed to run at the front, look for Hovesen to bounce back at the next rounds in Mosport.

Stefano Romano once again contested the ultra-competitive Rotax DD2 class. Arriving at the track Saturday after missing all of Friday's practice sessions, Romano would have some ground to make up to get his Tecno chassis up to speed. With the ever-changing weather conditions, the DD2s would hit the track for a wet qualifying session with Romano struggling to find the necessary speed and clocking the 12th quickest time. A wild prefinal and drying track allowed Romano to improve nicely during the racing action, crossing the stripe in the third place. Battling amongst the country's best DD2 pilots and battling the weather gremlins, Romano managed a top-ten finish in the final taking home the eighth place position.

"Overall, I thought all of our drivers performed extremely well. Stefano, Antonio, Gregory and Erik are outstanding individuals that represent Pserra Racing with integrity, skill and class both on and off the track. We are proud to see such positive results and we will continue building the program to provide our drivers with everything they need to continue the season with success," stated Pserra Racing Operations Manager Petri Ranta.

The Pserra team will take two weeks off before they return to action at Mosport International Karting for the third round of the ECKC with the Pan American Challenge Canadian qualifier held in conjunction.

Pserra Racing is the importer for the Tecno chassis, Canadian importer for Beta tools and has recently added LKE engines from Italy to their product list. Pserra Racing has the entire Tecno chassis line in stock, including the new 4-cycle chassis.
