  • RYAN HORSES SET TO CHALLENGE FOR ROTAX DD2 MASTERS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
  • August 9, 2011
  • Whitby, Ontario - Multi-time karting champion Ryan Horses hasn't hit the track too often this season, but when the opportunity to race as a DD2 Master came to fruition, Horses jumped at the opportunity to jump back into the kart. This week he will travel to Mont-Tremblant, Quebec for the 2011 ASN Canada FIA Canadian National Karting Championships for the 5-day special event. The event attracts drivers from across the country, and for Ryan, brings on a new challenge and a new class of competitors.

His ultimate goal of the weekend is to score the victory and be the first Native American citizen to compete at the Rotax Grand Finals as part of Team Canada later this year in Al Ain, UAE.

"I'm very happy to competing again for a Canadian National Championship," comments Ryans Horses from his Whitby, Ontario home. "I hope to become the first Native American to compete for Team Canada at the Worlds."

Horses enters the event this weekend competing under the PSerra Racing tent aboard a Tecno Kart powered by the Rotax Depot. Having raced it only a handful of times this season, he feels he has the pace to keep up with Canada's best Masters.

"I'm very confident in the Pserra prepared Tecno DD2 kart powered by the Rotax Depot," continues Horses. "And with Nathan Brown tuning for me this weekend I expect to be quick out of the box. He's won a National Championship as a tuner before, so I have total faith in any decision he makes this week."

Two days of unofficial practice kickstart the event on Wednesday before official timed qualifying begins on Friday in Mont-Tremblant.

In preparation for this weeks event, Ryan Horses recently competed in the Ontario Grand Nationals in Shannonville, giving his Tecno kart a shakedown and gaining some seat time.

The ASN Canada FIA Canadian Karting Championships presented by Canadian Tire will be broadcast via live internet stream on the Kart Racing Network starting Friday, August 12 at www.kartracingnetwork.com. Event coverage can also be followed at www.eKartingNews.ca.
